Live Wire
Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories | Kelly Ripa
8 posts | 10 read | 1 to read
A sharp, funny, and honest collection of real-life stories from Kelly Ripa, showing the many dimensions and crackling wit of the beloved daytime talk show host. In Live Wire, her first book, Kelly shows what really makes her tick. As a professional, as a wife, as a daughter and as a mother, she brings a hard-earned wisdom and an eye for the absurdity of life to every minute of every day. It is her relatability in all of these roles that has earned her fans worldwide and millions of followers on social media. Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification (whence she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment) Kelly always tells it like it is. Ms. Ripa takes no prisoners. Surprising, at times savage, a little shameless and always with humor Live Wire shows Kelly as she really is offscreena very wise woman who has something to say.

Really enjoyed the short stories from Kelly Ripa, everything from falling in love, having babies and managing a career, to reaching the proud moment when one‘s kids go into college and get to figure out what happens next! Great laughs on her experiences and her wit on how she manages to make the best of it! Some may find the long winded storytelling distracting but I enjoyed it, definitely relatable and reason I am now picking my funeral outfit 🤣

138/150 Whether you're a fan of Kelly Ripa or not, I confess I've never watched her daytime talk show, this is a bright and breezy read, both funny and touching. I'm not sure if the audio choice is for everyone, at times I found her voice a bit annoying. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you‘re a fan, I‘m sure you‘ll find plenty to love - if you‘re a hater, I‘m sure you‘ll find plenty to hate…and if you are slightly curious you‘ll probably still be slightly curious. I was expecting more but this was pleasant enough. #MoreMehThanYeah #BorrowNotBuy #NonfictionNovember

I knew this book would be entertaining but I wasn't prepared for the emotions it brought up also. The stories may be long-winded but they're also relatable and seemingly heartfelt. I'm not sad to have spent time on this not-memoir at all. #79-2022
