I loved the diversity representation of Latin and LGBTQ. Also I need to give credit to Ana Osorio for her narration of this book.

That being said, the pacing was okay and then it wavers to slow with pages and pages of a single moment that unfortunately said a lot but also nothing. I found as I kept reading that this book did a lot telling and less doing which is a shame because again the concept sounds interesting.

This book started out fast, slowed in the middle for some world building and character development then ended with a fast run. I am looking forward to the next one. Plus I love the cove.

I cannot say enough great things about this book! The world building is rich and stunningly beautiful, I fell in love with the characters, who are a wonderfully varied cast, and the plot had me staying up late just to see what happened next.

Featuring everything from strong warrior women and found family to LGBTQ representation and unique folklore and magic, the first book in this series has me hyped to read the next volume!

My wonderful guy knows me so well, even my anniversary gift includes a book!

I have had this one on my wish list since it was still on pre-order, and I can't wait to dive in!

This was an enjoyable, light read with a lovable cast of characters, interesting plot and a setting based in Latin American roots. There was LGBTQ+ representation, found family tropes and strong warrior women! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can't wait for book 2!
