This was a bit better than the last book I read in the series…maybe because I got used to the voice narrator! Some of the events that occurred in the previous book carry over in this one, and I like how there has been a bit foreshadowing in the last one and this one as well. Agatha‘s obsessions are becoming slightly annoying at this point - give it up, Agatha! - but I continue to enjoy reading the series. It‘s like comfort food!

Liatrek Love this series but hate when Penelope is not narrating but it‘s my go to comfort audio😊 11mo
Librarybelle @Liatrek I know! Penelope Keith is the best narrator for Agatha Raisin! The series is a perfect comfort audio! 11mo

I‘m not sure if I can put my finger on the exact reason why, but this Agatha Raisin #audiobook was especially hard for me to put down and I found it quite enjoyable. I would put this in the top 3 or 4 out of the 28 I‘ve read so far. Agatha has more close calls than usual and there is a serial killer loose in the Cotswolds. I‘m almost done with the series so I started the show earlier this week. As always, I‘d highly recommend this cozy series! 5⭐️

Libby1 I really like it, too! 3y
JenlovesJT47 @Libby1 have you seen the show? I‘m in the middle of the movie which is the intro to the series. My only gripe is she has blonde hair instead of brown, but even after just watching half the movie I already picture her now as Agatha when I‘m reading the books. Minus the hair she captures Agatha‘s personality very well imo, although she and a few of the other characters are younger in the show than they‘re supposed to be in the books. Oh well! 3y
Libby1 I have the show on my “To Watch” list! I‘m looking forward to getting to it. 😊 3y

I‘ve been sitting here with 100 pages left for almost 2 weeks now. I read a couple of library ebooks, and then spontaneously had my mom stay with me for 8 days (she had the flu, a UTI, and gout in both feet) so any and all time was spent taking care of her, cooking, cleaning, etcetera.
After shoveling out just my front walk, I‘m wiped out and am watching As Time Goes By, with a very happy cat on my side. Hope I can wake up and finish this!

Crazeedi I've done that before! 6y

Mehso-so

Beaton's authorial quirks bothered me a lot more here than they did in PUSHING UP DAISIES. While parts of the book amused me, I couldn't be bothered to guess along with Agatha's investigation and the characters didn't charm me well enough to make up for that failing.

I kicked off my literary tourism with a trip to James Bay Coffee & Books, where I looked at stuff, drank a tasty cappuccino, and started DISHING THE DIRT by M.C. Beaton while I sat on a red velvet couch.

Here're the print books I brought on vacation (plus my wee bullet journal). I plan to gobble them down and leave them in Little Free Libraries here so I won't have to haul them home again.

Want to finish the Agatha Raisin Series by the end of the year so moving straight onto the next book in the series, Dishing the Dirt (book 26). This is an audiobook which is well read by Penelope Keith.

Starting off 2017 with a #cozy #mystery by M.C. Beaton that is set in an English village--I like those kinds of books. :) #cozymystery
