A by the numbers read but entertaining enough. I almost stopped reading a few pages in due to one of my absolute bugbears - speedy and lazy exposition done through clunky dialogue, where two characters cover all the backstory ground by announcing facts about their past for no believable reason. Pantomime villain too. I thought this was a beginner but turns out this is an experienced writer under a pen name. While it remained cheesy it got better.

Another available with Prime Reading. I enjoy dual timeline stories if they are skillfully done so 🤞

Dual timelines don‘t always work for me but this story was crafted so well that the past and present were interwoven perfectly. A young mother accused of witchcraft, an artist escaping the past for a new beginning and a tree holding the key to a tragedy. I cried at the end of this for the injustices of women and the writing was just beautiful

I‘m thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for The Witch‘s Tree. I absolutely loved this book. It‘s follows the story of Selena in present day and of Grace in 1682. Both storylines come together in such an interesting way. And let me tell you I experienced a wide range of emotion reading this. So just be prepared. The Witch‘s Tree is beautiful.
