If I had to describe this book in one word it is Boring. Or one emoji: 🥱. Yes, it should be the exciting story about Captain James Cook‘s wife! But the story occurs—about 75%—in Elizabeth Cook‘s head. And like all of us who pay too much attention to our own thoughts, it‘s repetitive. There are snatches about Cook and their children, and they are interesting. And her life turns out to be quite sad. These parts make this book barely a pick. By a ⬇️
