A really wonderful collection of absorbing African short stories which follow Shange and Mijoga. Shange was a God but fell in love with a human. As punishment she is sent to earth as a human to follow the orders of the gods. Mijoga is now a lion. They work together to help those on earth, in hope that eventually their penance will allow them to be released. As Shange does her duty she discovers she has been left with some of her powers. #bookspin
