Bailedbailed

I‘m really not vibing with the art style here, and for someone who had such a interesting life both in his life choices and in his inner life, I‘m finding this account of him desperately dry. I actually got way more out of the Netflix documentary I saw on Hallelujah last year. Maybe I‘ll stumble onto a biography I do vibe with at some point, I know there are more out there…

Suet624 That‘s too bad. I liked the doc a lot. 1y

Pickpick

This charming comics format biography of Leonard Cohen was created by Québécois cartoonist Philippe Girard & translated by Helge Dascher & Karen Houle. All the wine, women & song… plus famous incidents throughout his life, like the origin of the famous blue raincoat, the photo with the banana, being swindled out of the rights to the song Suzanne, time spent in zen retreat & eventually losing over $7 million to his manager. #Canadian

[Leonard Cohen‘s response to an interviewer asking if his songs are becoming more Jewish]:
“My songs have always been Jewish. How could I be MORE or LESS Jewish? That‘s like saying someone is a little pregnant or a little dead.”

Phil Spector is just one of many odd personalities in this bio of Leonard Cohen.
