I enjoyed this so much, dark, brooding and downright spooky for this time of year, such a perfect read.
Nell and her husband along with his daughter Maude all go for a break to a holiday cottage let near the sea.
But from the very first Nell is unsettled by the seemingly idyllic looking cottage.
There are weird carving up in the attics ceiling, strange things hidden within its walls.
The house changes and affects them all in different ways.

Told from the pov of several different female characters, this was an enthralling read. It starts off slow & takes a while to get going, but once it does it builds until the reader is drawn into the mystery of what's happening. Is the cottage haunted or is it down to human interaction? I enjoyed reading it & it was suitably spooky for October. 4🌟
