Cute story about a reluctant reader who saves the day by reading.
A young boy pleads with his parents for 427 days to be allowed to get a cat in this heartwarming picture-book from author/illustrator Sophie Blackall.
Having read and enjoyed a number of books about therapy reading dogs—see Lisa Papp's “Madeline Finn and the Library Dog“ and Maria Gianferrari's “Hello Goodbye Dog“—and loving the concept, I was absolutely charmed to discover from this book that there are also therapy reading cat programs! Yay!
After 427 days of asking, a boy‘s parents agree to let him adopt a cat. When they bring the cat home everyone is unhappy that he isn‘t a cuddly cat who purrs a lot, but the boy believes the cat will come around. This is cute, but I love cats. I also really liked the ending and the note from the author.
This book is adorable! I love it! 😻 I wish my cats would come snuggle next to me while I read. #CharactersReading
