Three Lines in a Circle
Three Lines in a Circle: The Exciting Life of the Peace Symbol | Michael G. Long
1 post | 1 read
One line straight down. One line to the right. One line to the left, then a circle. That was alljust three lines in a circle. This bold picture book tells the story of the peace symboldesigned in 1958 by a London activist protesting nuclear weaponsand how it inspired people all over the world. Depicting the symbol's travels from peace marches and liberation movements to the end of apartheid and the fall of the Berlin Wall, Three Lines in a Circle offers a message of inspiration to today's children and adults who are working to create social change. An authors note provides historical background and a time line of late twentieth-century peace movements.

I wanted more from this. It is a cute little story, but I found the back matter so much more interesting. I was hoping this was a biography on how the symbol came to be. But if you are using this at story time or something, all the relevant information gets lost because it is at the back and not in the story. As said before, this could have been better.
