Henrietta and the Heffalumps
Henrietta and the Heffalumps | James Derwent
Edwin the zebra thinks he is the most handsome, and the cleverest zebra on Earth. He also tends to confuse everybody by saying 'sayings'. Taff the giraffe is always on the lookout for something to eat, and is fascinated by rhyming words. He even speaks in rhyme sometimes. The two animals are great friends, and often have the most interesting, if slightly confusing, and very amusing, conversations. They also find themselves involved in all sorts of adventures, and the day they met Henrietta was one they would never forget! It all began when Henrietta the hippopotamus, who had been extremely busy that day doing absolutely nothing at all, was woken from her afternoon sleep in her mud pool by Fred, the hippopotamus who lived in a mud pool just along the path. His unwelcome arrival began a farcical and amusing chain of events, involving some of the most curious animals Henrietta had ever met, and some very, very strange conversations. Is one word really so difficult to say? Why can't anybody stick to the subject? Can some jokes really be that bad? And... what on earth is that smell? This is the hilarious story of Edwin and Taff's adventure with Henrietta and the Heffalumps, and it will all become clear in a jiffy (as they say!)
