...already becoming difficult to treat, and antibiotics for gonorrhea no longer work in at least 10 countries. If nothing changes, antibiotic resistance is predicted to kill ten million people a year by 2050.
This book flows really well, the interviewees were all wonderful choices and give great insight in to their respective topics.
I learnt a lot about recent technological advances about the topics covered, but did find a lot of the authors own opinion given surrounding the interviews clouded relevant information.
Kleeman investigates technological "solutions" to basic parts of human existence sex, food, birth/reproduction and death. It's a brilliant, hard-hitting read that lays bare appalling injustices and our obsession with technological fixes to complex issues that need equally complex answers. It's also a story about ego and our inability to consider whether the ability to do something really means we SHOULD do it. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
