Mouse Loves Love

Mouse Loves Love is an animal fantasy picture book by Lauren Thompson with illustrations by Bucket Erdogan. This story is about a mouse that follows his sister around while she makes a Valentine card for him. Mouse secretly watches as his sister gathers ribbon, paper, lace, and other craft supplies and turns it all into a card for him. This book would be best used for storytelling followed by a small activity since it is aimed for young students.

This adorable book would be considered animal fiction because it features animal characters who talk and behave like humans. The book is about a mouse named Minka who is crafting a gift for her little sister. The little sister has no clue what Minka is making for her. At the very end, the craft is a lace heart shaped note that says ā€I love you.ā€¯

olivia_danko This Animal Fantasy would be best taught using UDL 1.1 (community artifacts) by making a lesson plan to make their own heart shaped note for a loved one at home. And 9.3 (develop self-assessment and reflection)
The ELS strategy I‘d use is EL 46 use discovery learning activities(hands-on-activities) giving students the chance to make their own heart shaped note. 4y
