My students tend to like April Henry‘s books, so I‘ve read several although they‘re not my preferred genre. I don‘t know that this one will be one of their favorites, but I enjoyed more than some others. An incredibly popular fantasy author who‘s hit writer‘s block on his final book (Game of Thrones 🧐 🤷‍♀️) is kidnapped with the plan to force him to write. One of his teenage fans is the only one who might actually realize he‘s in danger. #YA

Daisey @readingwithkels I‘ve listened to a few of hers on audio, but I wasn‘t especially impressed with this narrator. Another recent one I enjoyed was 2y
readingwithkels @Daisey I also read Playing with Fire. That one was really good. 2y

This was a decent #YA #thriller. Lots of #suspense. I felt the story could have been tightened up more and that it had untapped potential, but I still recommend it to fans of the genre. To read my full review, please click the link:

Eyes of the Forest is a YA contemporary suspense novel about a teenage fan that turns her knowledge about a fantasy author‘s books into an opportunity to save his life.
Overall, this was a enjoyable read about fandoms, becoming a hero and the creative process. It‘s not particularly dark or disturbing so I think it will be an appropriate suspenseful read for all ages and preferences 3.5 stars
