I started reading McCorkle when my sister studied with her at Bennington, and kept reading because she's a North Carolina author whose voice I enjoy. #life #JuneBookBugs @RealLifeReading
This book took me months to read. It coincided with my mother's death and the subject was just too difficult to read for a while. But I finally finished it this evening and I'm glad I didn't give up on it. A fine novel of the unexpected impact we all have on each other and the secrets and unexpressed longing that can keep us apart. And the acts of self-discovery that continue through life.
