It's been a while since I was last entranced by a book like this!! I DEVOURED THIS. It was such a good read if you're looking for some fairytale vibes without (to my knowledge) being one specific story. It's a story of friendship and respecting promises, and also about not being afraid to be different/ being accepting and welcoming (and also of not, of being afraid to stand out and what that can cost you). Excited to read the rest!!

This is my December reads. The four center books are not only my favourites of the month but some of my favourites of the year. And I always love reading Agatha Christie mysteries around Christmas. #december2020 #monthlywrapup #monthlyroundup #christmasreads

I have been completely absorbed in this world set in Grimms fairy tale forests of Germany. Everything that Dao writes transports me to beautiful places. I feel like this book has not gotten the praise and attention it deserves.

Julie C. Dao‘s Broken Wish is the first in a series of four YA novels spanning generations of a cursed family. (The authors are heavy hitters: Dhonielle Clayton, L. L. McKinney, and Jennifer Cervantes will round out the series.)â €
