pickThe poem 'The Whales off Whales' is simple but informational. The poem has a rhyming scheme every other line. This is good poem for any age because it is simple but has lots of information about a whale. The description of words in the poem help create a picture for the readers.
pickThe poem 'I am a Baby Porcupette' is so cute and such an easy read. This poem is so simple yet has such descriptive words to paint a picture of how the porcupette is living. I would recommend this poem for elementary students because is short and cute and the students could relate to the animal and being young. There was some rhyming among the different lines but not too much.
I like that there is a variety of poem styles in this book

pickThere is a lot of imagery in this book, it explains how animals look and how they act. It also has examples of onomatopoeias when talking about how the animals sound or the sound of their actions.
I would use this poetry book, because it is very universal. Not only does the book incorporate multiple kinds of poetry, it also is very informational about wildlife. I could use this when discussing animals since it is information packed and perfectly portrays poetry.

Most of the pages have multiple poems about one animal on them. I liked this because then children can get a glimpse of what each animal does/looks like. I would definitely use this book in my classroom and have children do a project on an animal from the book.
so-soI loved the concept of this book of poetry. I liked how there were poems about different animals. The poems talked about different aspects of each animal as well. This would be s great book for children because they could pick out an animal to read about.

“There is danger where I walk.“
I wouldn't really use this in my classroom only because it uses big words and can be a little hard for young children to understand. It does have repetition which is a good indicator that something is a poem, but it does not rhyme which is what young children typically enjoy and how the understand better.
so-soThe poem I am reviewing is “Song of a Bear“ -A Navajo Poem- This poem is about a bear, and the illustration shows a bear and it's cub. The poem, I think, is about how bears are scary and a danger to other animals by them. It uses repetition but does not use rhyming words.
