Pick....so-so? A good read with 3 really strong parts but this was intended for a YA audience, so parts with high school angst. I did like Christian's voice - he had a sharp and dry wit that I liked. When he met Yuko in Japan and heard her story - very good!

This is moving along nicely so far! Was concerned at the beginning it would be too YA (it's targeted to a YA audience) but I'm getting into the groove of it. Christian talks about his life with a nice dry humour. #canlit

Received unexpected #BookMail today and couldn't be happier! This is categorized as YA but I think it appeals to me and sounds really great! #CanLit #Dundurn (I ate all the candy treats already too. 😊)

When I downloaded this, I missed that it is geared toward 10-14yos. I kept this in mind. At his great grandfather's funeral, a boy finds his GGF was part of the Manhattan project and the bomb that fell on Hiroshima. He travels to Japan w/his class to learn about what happened. He meets the GGC of a woman who survived the bomb. Quick, easy read, but took until pg 146 of 220 to get to Japan. Good, but def for kids, So-so for adults.

NerdyRev Forgot to add- the very end of the book was way out of place. It tried to make a statement and tie up a storyline, but there was a great ending just prior. The very end made little sense. 8y

This is my next read about a teen boy finding out his grandfather invented the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. I might be done by this evening.
