#ManicMonday time! C‘s an easy letter.

Book: Corambis by Sarah Monette

Author: KJ Charles

TV Show: Coronation Street

Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival

Song: Country Song - Seether

Special mention to Amazon‘s Cinderella, which I fell SO RIDICULOUSLY IN LOVE WITH this weekend but haven‘t seen enough times to say if it‘s, like, my FAVOURITE. Shoutout, too, to RHCP‘s Californication, one of my top albums even if the title track‘s not my C song.

CBee Californication was my pick 👏🏻👏🏻 2y

This is what I‘m doing with my morning.

Then I‘m probably gonna mope a lot, because this is my very favourite series and of the four, CORAMBIS is the book I love a little bit more every time I read it. It always kills me when I‘ve gotta say goodbye to the characters and their world. I‘ll miss them like crazy until my next reread.

Just reposting this cute pic of my dog with Celebratory Reread #5 (about which I have MANY EMOTIONS) because I got a request to spoiler-tag the original post and I don‘t want to deprive y‘all of Casey‘s early morning sprawl.

(Honestly, I‘m sad to deprive y‘all of my commentary, too, because I let myself do some charactery gushing. I hope you‘ll unspoiler my earlier post if you don‘t mind knowing what Corambis [the country, not the book] is like.)

I started Celebratory Reread #5 yesterday and I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS. This book makes me horribly sad, because it‘s the LAST ONE, and Corambin society is kind of a downer. (Corambins dress in drab colours, chop off all their hair, disdain women, and consider queer love a sin.) (Queer SEX is okayish, though.) But it also makes me really, really happy because Felix makes so much progress and I love how he ends up.

So. EMOTIONS.

xicanti Also, Litsy‘s character limit is the only reason I haven‘t subjected y‘all to several long essays about Felix. My favourite literary characters fall into two camps: the ones I don‘t really want to talk about, because you either get it or you don‘t, and the ones I never want to shut up about. Mildmay‘s the former; Felix is the latter. I have MANY EMOTIONS AND OBSERVATIONS ABOUT HIM, friends. So many. (edited) 3y
xicanti I DO need to say I‘ve had at least three people tell me they bailed on MÉLUSINE because they hated Felix. That‘s fair. He‘s my Queer Asshole #1 for a reason. I probably should‘ve hated him at first, too, but I never have—even though, like I said before, I used to be hypercritical of him and he‘s never, ever belonged to my sublist of Favourite Literary Characters I Never Want To Punch. 3y
smalldogs_bigbooks2419 When you write a review of a book on Litsy, there‘s an option to label it as “contains spoilers”, by clicking on the skull at the bottom. I kinda think this one should have that label. That‘s just my opinion though. 3y

xicanti @smalldogs_bigbooks2419 i I‘m sorry. I didn‘t think I said anything too revealing, but I‘ve spoiler-tagged it now in case anyone else feels the same. 3y
Centique Casey is gorgeous! Also I‘m totally inspired to read this now by your emotions and observations! 😍💕 3y
xicanti @Centique hurray! I hope you‘ll enjoy the books. They‘re my very favourites. 3y

I didn't do any literary tourism yesterday because I was too busy hanging out at the museum with my favourite mammoth. Wooly made a big impression on me when my parents brought me to BC at age 4, but neither of them remembered it at all. For years, they thought I made this mammoth up. Nope! It's REAL!

It does sort of count as literary tourism, too, because I always geek out when I find mammoths in books on account of Wooly.

AceOnRoam He's beautiful. And big!!! 7y

AceOnRoam Whoa. That's huge! 7y

xicanti @AceOnRoam this is the first time it occurred to me to actually size him out, and I was surprised. I knew he was big, but they've got him displayed at a bit of an angle so you've gotta move around if you want to get the full effect. 7y
