I thoroughly enjoyed this simplified but faithful retelling. With its beautifully poetic prose that's reminiscent of reading a classic translation, but still accessible to the young or casual reader.

So happy with these newest additions to my mythology library.
I read this book as part of a challenge I am taking part in this year, I love Greek poetry, and this is one I never came across before its perfect for children and also adults the illustrations were breathtaking and the text was easy to follow, I will be looking up the other translation done Rosemary♥️.
After Miller‘s The Song of Achilles and Circe I‘ve been hot after gaining a strong handle on these particular Greek Myths with the goal of reading The Iliad and The Odyssey. This is a simple middle grade to young adult telling of The Iliad. Quick and to the point. I‘m starting it‘s sequel, The Wandering of Odysseus, a simplified The Odyssey.
Loving this version of the Iliad until they used corn as imagery in an Ancient Greek text.
