This was a fascinating and well-crafted look at loneliness by former US Surgeon General. Murthy brings the science but couples it with plenty of relatable content, which makes for a really engaging read.

A timely book for the painful ride that is 2020/2021. One of the most helpful parts is understanding how loneliness is such an easy spiral into further isolation. You have to have a thick skin to reach someone who is lonely, and you have to be persistent to push through the dark veil of your own loneliness. There's a lot more to the book, overwhelming when you think of how many are affected, but it's important information and well worth the read.
A thoughtful look at the difference between loneliness, isolation, solitude, connection, and belonging. How loneliness can be intimate, relational, or collective, & its effect on our overall health & well being. Liked the examples of Ethiopian, Indian, & Hutterite cultures, as well as the difference of having friendships vs experiencing friendships. Also nice were his tips on creating & maintaining better connections, pandemic included.
The tagged seems like a very timely read. Not too far in, but it‘s starting off well.
