This took a step away from a detective story and focussed more on the main characters than the earlier book. This also felt like a bit easier to read than the first one although the story line did include some really tough moments in history and character's lives. I really liked this. 👍

Nordic historical fiction is a genre I feel like I could read more in the future. 😁

I already know enough of Niklas Natt och Dag's writing to be VERY VERY afraid of where this horse ride is going and what's going to be waiting for us in the end of the trip. 🙈

I had forgotten Niklas's style of writing. It's so lovely to read! 😍 Reminds me a bit of Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Ofcourse the themes of Niklas's books have much more gore and nordic noir vibes set in historical fiction. 🤔

A pick, but barely. Preferred the first one. Something about the flow in the book I don‘t care for too much. It continues where the first book ended, and I enjoy to read the story about Anna Stina Knapp. Brutal and hard times, and I believe a good description of how things were back then in Stockholm. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

DGRachel I read the first one and it was so brutal I don‘t think I could read anything else by this author. The story was good, but just too graphic. 5y
