Pickpick

This was the 2nd Berry book I read when I finally discovered him. Decided to reread. I think it has the closest connection to my family history (my mom‘s side of family & Berry are from the same county in Ky). Berry based the murder in the story on a real one. My gfa told me he remembered it but may have already left for ww2. There‘s a paragraph where Berry describes the “town” I used to visit as a kid to see my extended family.

Scochrane26 Mostly this book is about grief, death, farming, & a family history of Berry‘s community. 5y
Cinfhen I‘ve been told I would love this author‘s work. Thanks for the reminder 🧡sounds like a special place 5y
