I think I‘m too obsessed with Percy Jackson and Annabeth that a new main hero, Magnus, just wasn‘t as enthralling. BUT! learning about Norse mythology was cool, we‘ve got a Muslim female warrior, a gender fluid shape-shifting child of Loki and a main hero who truly can not fight and relies more on his friends and interesting quests like a craft-off than the battles that percy had. Rick, you‘re a king of inclusivity and I love you for it.
@KatieDid927 like this...this is certainly what we want to see from our kids. Love and acceptance. Rick Riordan is straight, but he‘s apparently written some really good gender fluid characters that normalise what some kids have no direct contact with, until they do. This should count, I‘d think. If an author is openly LGBTQ great, maybe they count twice or something, but outside of that rare situation 🤷🏼♀️.
so-soThese are a fun story great characters. I was not as hoked asi was with Percy Jackson but was great to learn more about the Norse god's and Valhalla. Worth a read looking for good story not to complex
