8 posts | 8 read
First in an emotional, poignant romantic women's fiction series from acclaimed inspirational romance author Pat Simmons. No one should have to go it alone... Tabitha Knicely is overwhelmed with sorrow and exhaustion caring for her beloved great-aunt, whose dementia is getting worse. When her neighbor Marcus Whittington accuses Tabitha of elder neglect, he doesn't realize how his threats to have Aunt Tweet taken away add to Tabitha's pain. Then Marcus gets to know the exuberant elderly lady and sees up close how hard Tabitha is fighting to keep everything together. Tabitha finds herself leaning on Marcus more and more. And he's becoming more than happy to share her burdens... What readers are saying: "The most empowering story line of a family tied together by the power of unconditional love." "Beautifully written, heart-wrenching romance that rates five shiny stars." "A powerful read that will tug at your heart." "The joys and challenges of caregiving... Love comes in all shapes, sizes, and scenarios!"

This book is based in my hometown, which I love, because I recognize all the landmarks and street names she uses and that makes it fun. I also love books about faith. However, this book is overly sweet and light for it to be about a painful and tragic diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Very predictable. This book is more like a straight line than ups, downs, a climax and a resolution which makes it kind of boring. When will I find a book I LOVE?

This book didn‘t have many plot twists, but it was sweet. The author is also from the St Louis area and heavily referenced streets and local establishments. That might have annoyed me if I wasn‘t familiar, but since I am, it was fun.

I just finished this on my new kindle Oasis. I was not impressed, way too predictable for me.

This was predictable, but a clean romance. This was an easy read and I was surprised to see a book, with a lot of Christian reference, as a Libby book group read.

3.75/5 for being predictable but engaging. Offers insight into the struggle of caring for an elderly relative while working.

Tabitha takes on a new job and the caregiver role for her aunt, who is in the early stages of Alzheimer‘s. When her aunt wanders off, repeats visiting a neighbor, Tabitha meets Marcus. Thanks to Aunt Tweet, they find their way back to church.

Good read for a long weekend vacation.

“Marcus Whittington wasn‘t expecting to see a woman on his surveillance camera, trespassing on his domain.”

Starting this today, as I take a long weekend off before busy times at work.

This is a sweet story (100% sweet) about family, Alzheimer's/caregiving, faith, and romance. An honest look at the terrible disease that Alzheimer's is but, other than that, this book is so sweet. Maybe too sweet? The workplace situation with Victor and his family was interesting and the way it was handled was well done. This book is Tabitha's story of her time with Aunt Tweet. If you're looking for a good story with no major drama, this is it.

Need a feel-good book? Try this one. As I read this lovely story, I could easily envision it as a Tyler Perry movie. “Lean on Me” is about family love and tackles the difficult topic of being a caregiver.

Octoberwoman I‘m reading this now, and Tyler Perry movie was my thought also! 5y
ReadingisMyPassion It would be perfect for him. 5y
