What a lovely and completely unique novel.

Set over 24 hours and entirely in a cafe that never closes, we have half the story told by Hannah and half told by Mona (two best friends) throughout the novel we meet a mix of different customers that all find themselves in the cafe at challenging and upsetting points in their lives. We hear their stories, too.

I really enjoyed this one.

‘The 24-Hour Cafe‘ is a lovely read which I‘d definitely recommend for fans of contemporary fiction. Hannah and Mona have a wonderful friendship which feels so real and the customers they serve in the cafe have some interesting stories too. I‘m giving this one 4 stars!

I love The Lido, so when I got an ARC of the new book from Libby Page I was very excited! This second offering is equally as character focussed. While The Lido seemed full of fresh air, the Café is confined in its story telling to a single day in a single location and the patrons and staff of the café. The fleeting glimpses and single setting make the story feel like driving along a street and seeing views through windows into people's lives...
