I found this to be both an interesting and tough read. With some of the material covered, I had at least a vague awareness of. With others, I was able to learn a good amount. I can't say I agree with every single point in the book, but I did find it very educational and thought-provoking.

This is an excellent and informative overview of the ongoing history of impoverishment of the “global south” by the countries of the “global north,” be it through colonialism, political meddling, or economic policy. It argues that the idea of wealthy nations sending “aide” to the global south is absurd, given that far more wealth and resources have been and (still) are being plundered by the very nations that are supposedly offering “aide.”
