Riri Williams is a brilliant young woman who builds her own version of Tony Stark‘s armor and fights crime as Ironheart. She is a deserving successor, witty and capable. Her adventures are more ground level and less epic (although this is just her beginning) and she works well with the other younger heroes, collectively known as the ‘Champions‘. Good start, looking forward to her further exploits in the Marvel universe.

Eve Ewing is an absolute Renaissance woman and she brings her formidable talents to Ironheart. This comic delves into race and gender in powerful ways while still telling a really fun story about a young hero who is trying to balance college, family, and fighting bad guys.

TracyReadsBooks Are you reading her Champions Outlawed run? It‘s really good as well. 4y

I never read comics but I‘m a huge fan of Eve L. Ewing‘s, so it was time to meet RiRi Williams, aka Ironheart—a girl mastermind from Chicago, whose loss of her stepfather and best friend in a drive-by shooting has given her a steely determination to fight evil. I really enjoyed this collection of the first 6 issues and themes of justice, political corruption, asking for help, and friendship. RiRi is awesome and Ewing‘s words soar alongside her!

Darthdad I really enjoyed this whole series. I was initially skeptical of the character but she is so interesting. 4y
underground_bks @Darthdad I enjoyed it more than I expected! I didn‘t know how I‘d like the comic format. 4y

Love this introduction to IronHeart. Little disappointed that Riri‘s story begins with her already with the mantel. Is a shout-out in one issue that it occurred in Iron Man five-hundred-something. Thats just cause I wanted to see her build this beta suit she‘s using in here. What‘s defining is finding that she fights for power (in a sense); she knows where she came from-and how her best friend and step-dad died in a drive by shooting. #IronHeart
