This volume didn't have the same intensity as the first two, and a bit less of the sarcastic dialogue I've come to love.
Still a good read, just not as good as the others.

Another good book from one of my favorite writers.
What a fun ride this series is!!! So glad I found it last month - I want to just tear through the rest of it now. Dex Parrios is a kick-ass scrappy chick - I'd want her on my side any day.
#bookishmail Got a great deal on this plus Prime shipping... So now it's mine 🤗
"Was it good for you?"
That quote after a harrowing car chase sums up Dex's character, whom I loved. I inadvertently started with the second volume (the only one available to me through the library.) I didn't realize until the end so it worked as a standalone (but I did buy the first.) I loved the humorous noir feel. I'm a sucker for a sassy and observant female detective. The art wasn't my favorite but it fit the style and supported the story.
🌟🌟🌟🌟 The story here wasn't the strongest in my opinion, but I'm here for the characters. I love Dex's relationship with her brother, Ansel. I also really liked her working with CK in this arc - hoping to see her back again. Nerdy references and panels that make me cry = win.
Another day, another graphic novel at the pool. 😎 I may have rather audibly exclaimed YASSSS when I saw this on the library shelves yesterday.
