I remember how surprised I was that I liked ?? „Jeder stirbt für sich allein“ so much. And I was hooked by this one quickly, too. I love how Fallada draws his characters. He‘s got affection and talent for “ordinary people”. I simply couldn‘t put it down, even though I don‘t quite understand the protagonist‘s marriage. But I appreciate his “moral integrity”. A book to worth re-reading.

I now want to read read all of Fallada‘s books. ?

Whenever I‘m the driver, I prefer mock tales, but when I‘m not, I am always there for a nice cocktail. Now in this time of year, we‘re having round here, where spring has still not yet continuously sprung in terms of temperatures, I prefer hot chicory coffee as my all-day “water”.
