Janine Latus was tonight‘s speaker as part of my university‘s V Day events. I‘d bought this book when it first came out but didn‘t read it. Now that I know how incredibly sad and ultimately empowering her story is, I feel I need to find the book and read it.

Mehso-so

I never know how to review these sorts of books. The author writes about her family beginnings and her abusive marriage and her younger sister's whom she remained close with. I didn't love the writing style, especially as it pertained to conversations between two people, but also while I think the writing of this was cathartic for the author, as a reader I didn't feel the closure I expected. It is a story of abuse, not what I was expecting.
