⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I will be reading this book every single year we choose to homeschool. This book was so perfectly short and yet densely packed with biblical truths. I needed Sarah‘s wisdom and insights, and I appreciated her honesty. I even joined her Read Aloud Revival program. If you‘re considering homeschooling, or if you‘re a seasoned veteran, this book will soothe your soul and bolster your strength. I definitely recommend this book!
"My problem with schedules, routines, and general task management systems is that most of them feed into my tendency to prioritize getting stuff done over building relationships. It's the nature of a list of tasks to put priority on the doing, and my ambitious personality takes that up a notch."
Well... That kind of stings. #guilty
We are weary because we forget about grace. We act as though God's showing up is the miracle. But guess what? God's showing up is the given. Grace is a fact.
The true aim of education is to order a child's affections -- to teach him to love that he ought and hate what he ought. Our greatest task, then, is to put living ideas on front of our children like a feast. We have been charged to cultivate the should of our children, to nourish them in truth, goodness, and beauty, to raise them up in wisdom and eloquence. It is to those ends that we labor.
So excited to finally read this one! It's beautiful already.
This is so refreshing. "Curriculum isn't something we buy. It's something we teach. Something we embody. Something we love. It is the form and content of our children's learning experiences."
