Anno's Counting Book
Anno's Counting Book | Mitsumasa Anno
1 post | 3 read | 1 to read
'An excellent introduction to number systems that is a beautiful wordless picture book as well. . . Over the course of a year (each picture represents a different month and time of day) a little town grows up with viewers witnessing the building of bridges, streets, and railroads. . . . Extraordinary lovely art work.' 'SLJ.

#kidlit for the win! They closed my library so I could sub for a first grade teacher. She wanted a math lesson where the kids could write math phrases about a picture, but she was sick and her plans were incomplete. Thank dog I have all the books! I may be the only one who checks out the Anno books. I imagine the next librarian will weed them.

Bookzombie I understand weeding, but it also makes me sad. Maybe the first grade teacher will want them if/when you move on. My sister retired and passed a lot of her classroom library on to other teachers. Of course, she has been filling in where they have positions unfilled and now misses having that library for the kids. 12mo
mandarchy @Bookzombie I'm the school librarian, so the books I weed have to go through channels determined by the district. There are about 20,000 books in my library. 12mo
