Gentian Hill | 
pickI have been slowly collecting & reading all of Goudge's books. Her writing is stunningly beautiful, and her characters always well-drawn. I love how she chooses something from nature (in this case gentians) that become a gentle theme throughout. While this wasn't my favorite of hers - the young age of Stella made me somewhat uncomfortable although it was done well - it was still a quietly powerful read.
