Pickpick

A fictional take on the real lives of the Brontë sisters (although Branwell features too) from the early tragic death of their mother & older sisters to the dawn of Charlotte's marriage to Arthur Bell Nicholls.

It was an interesting read with some surprisingly strong language in parts. I don't know why but the tragic deaths of these talented women juxtaposed with their writing talents & what more could have been never fails to raise a tear. 4🌟

What I call a dense book. I really enjoyed it, because it went deep into the Brontes life and surroundings. Immense amount of illness and deprivation for all of them, but the story was beautifully written.

Bubbles, chalk, books: everything you need for a trip to the park. I was bereft after finishing Jude Morgan's Passion, but fortunately I had this novel of the Brontes waiting patiently on my shelf.

Cannot wait to read this one. Too bad it'll languish on my shelves for a bit.
