This is a novel that I‘m really glad I read. John Green has written a really a book dealing with a difficult situation. The characters were lovable. Life is a gift to each of us. Cancer is real and hurts everyone around the patient. The teenagers here are living proof of that life doesn‘t always come to an ending the way they or we expect. This YA book is one of the most touching I‘ve read this yesterday. 5/5

So far in the John Greens novel, “The Fault in our Stars” the story has dove deep into the lives of two teens affected by cancer. Hazel and Gus Slowly becoming closer and more romantically fascinated with each other, finding themselves inseparable. Gus falling hard for Hazel has made every effort to pursue her but Hazel isn‘t as quick to proceed further. Still connected the two go through more scares and the effects of the cancer that causes

Avorie.henderson problems for Hazel and others friends. Hazel still not wanting to destroy others around her like a bomb is still distancing herself. To show that she isn‘t a burden or problem Gus decided to give Hazel the chance to live her life long dream of knowing the end of her favourite book “An imperial Affliction”. Talking to a foundation that grants sick kids wished, Gus takes Hazel and her mother to Amsterdam and they are scheduled to get the chance to 4y
Avorie.henderson meet the hazels favourite author. If you like books that show the emotion and relationships of teenagers learning to live with illness. This book will captivate ur attention. The story is written in the first person point of view, as Hazel the main character is telling the story. This is established by the author as he has Hazel narrating the whole story and connecting flashbacks or background info from her memories to give more detail. There is 4y
Avorie.henderson dialogue but John Green always has Hazel add her opinion and what she is thinking after. You really get to see the world from her eyes. 4y

This book was very well done! I normally like the movies better than the books but the novel was so much better. And it‘s a very emotionally and tear jerking. I definitely cried while reading the last two paragraphs. Even though this book covers a very emotional and hard topic the book was also filled with laughter and sarcasm which is good contrast. John Green is a very talented author who made an incredible book i could not put down.

MissYaremcio Nicely done Kadi! I would have loved to see you give me a bit more of a synopsis and the motif! 3.5/6 4y

The Fault in Our Stars is a modern story about the trials, and tribulations of your average teenagers suffering from cancer. The stories protagonist Hazel Grace has a very real take on death, as she has always known herself to be dying; never knowing the time when her cancer will finally take her. Trying to live life to the fullest, though an introvert Hazel eventually meats a boy who has opened her mind, and heart to living with the life she has

Avorie.henderson right now.
If you like books that are comedic, realistic and have a spice of awkward teenage romance, you will fall head over heals for this story. A reoccurring motif within this book is drowning. In the story Hazel always refers to herself as drowning. This can be taken literally and metaphorically, as hazels lungs are slowly filling with liquid and she is drowning from the emotional effects of cancer. Drowning shows that Hazel can‘t handle
4y
Avorie.henderson that she is seen as this sick kid, and is like a bomb ready to destroy the lives around her. She feels trapped and almost like she isn‘t just physically dying but mentally as well. Hazel just wants to make the damage around her less when she eventually goes, but this is hurting the ability for her to fully live her life in the end. She feels trapped like the water in her lungs. 4y
MissYaremcio Nicely done Avorie! What did you think overall? Did you end up crying at the end?! 6/6 4y
