Although this book is about the pre-WW II plight of European Jews, many of the situations and attitudes echo and parallel what‘s going on today. The quote above, from a speech given by a senator in 1941, could have been made today by a certain White House occupant.😪

The book views the issues thru the lens of a group of families from a small German village, so the stories are very personal & 💔breaking.
