This cover is W. L. Bost, who was 92 when he was interviewed in Asheville. He‘s one of 21 people interviewed as part of the WPA Slave Narratives project whose stories are in this slim volume. The editor, Belinda Hurmence, explains in the introduction that the interviewers were all given the same questions to ask, and you learn to intuit these after reading two or three accounts. Given the time period (the depression) 👇🏻
