After finishing Babel, i needed something light, so meeting again the hundred year old man and his adventures.
Drawing from my journals, paper books are better drawing subjects than e books ;)

This was a typical farce, but interspersed as it was with the lives and dramas of real 21st Century leaders and events, it had a certain poignancy. The storyline was higgeldy piggeldy and charming, with interesting characters ranging from Nazis to Maasai warriors. The tone was twee throughout - some may find it annoying, but it worked for me. A pleasant, silly, interesting story with some random asparagus.

Enjoyed the first book but got bored quickly in this one. Didn‘t finish. Humour set against trump America and in nNorth Korea so is witty at times

I‘ve read the first book and I truly enjoyed it very much! However this book pales in comparison. I was anticipating more funny vibes, instead, it felt more long winded as in too much emphasis unnecessarily 😅 Anyway it was nice to read a bashing of someone in the book 😂 All is well that ends well.

The first book was a quirky adventure with a highly likable and adventurous protagonist, so I was excited to read the follow-up. Sadly this story just didn‘t live up to the promise of the first. The characters were still interesting but lost some of the naive/wondrous quality that made them so appealing. The book had some truly funny and insightful moments, but overall it wasn‘t a compelling read. ⭐️⭐️1/2

What an amazing read! The Accidental Further Adventures of the Hundred-Year-Old Man is a compelling and quick-paced novel. The book has an engrossing and spell-binding plot, where Allan and Julius evade dangers, yet meet friends on the way. The book is quite humorous and individualistic, and easy to comprehend despite the somewhat-erratic plot. Overall, I would very much recommend this absorbing, thrilling, and addictive story to another reader.

I did enjoy this sequel to the first book (tagged below) but it wasn‘t quite up to the high quality of the first one. As always with Jonasson‘s writing this was cleverly written, was easy reading and created a number of humorous moments using real world characters. I felt this was more political than the first book & it is clear he doesn‘t have much respect for Donald Trump who takes a bit of a beating in this book. Still feel happy to recommend.

Started reading the sequel to The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. Hope this is as humorous and idiosyncratic as the first one.

So far so good. I do love this absurdist storytelling

I didn‘t realize there was a sequel but when I saw that there was I immediately picked it up. I liked the first book. I thought this book was good for the most part but ended up skimming the last 15% of the book. Their shenanigans were amusing at first but then I got a little bit tired of it. I don‘t have a lot of knowledge about current world politics and events so some of the stuff went right over my head, unfortunately.

This book is another wild ride through Jonas Jonasson‘s clever nonsense about world affairs and the human condition. It‘s great fun and a welcome break from the seriousness of the current news cycle. Fans of Donald Trump might want to give it a miss, though, as he is artfully lampooned throughout! 😆 #ReadingAroundTheWorld #Sweden

Trump supporters are going to hate this book. 🤣 Review coming next week.

Yay I‘m so excited!!I was notified this morning that I won this book from a Goodreads Giveaway!!This is the 2nd book of the series and it doesn‘t get released until January 15th! This was a great surprise to wake up this morning!!! Not as good as the first one but not awful. I still like the characters and general vibe, but I didn‘t think the political material of today was suitable for this type of treatment, it‘s hard to be this flippant about serious issues that worry all of us now. I haven‘t given up on the author and I‘m glad I finished it but definitely his worst book I‘ve read.

The bad news: a painful UTI has caused me to cancel plans with a friend I hadn‘t seen in ages and look like a weirdo who needs to pee every 20 mins at work 😕

The good news: with plans cancelled I‘ll be saving money and having a warm bath with a funny book that I‘ve had no time to read recently. Could be worse.
