Houston, Texas: A Photographic Portrait | 
Fam is going to Houston Wednesday and Thursday and will be checking out some bookstores, particularly the awesome Half Price Books near NASA (we‘re also going to the Johnson Space Center Museum where daughter and I got to spend the night when she was in Girl Scouts—AMAZING!).
Hey Houstonians! Any recommended bookstores down that way or on the way back to San Antonio?
And I can attest this quote is so darned true about Houston!
cassareada Murder By The Book is a great bookstore as well as BlueWillow Bookshop. And in San Antonio there's a bookstore by the River Walk ( i think it's called The Twig Book Shop??) I was there once like 3ish years ago so I don't remember the name for sure. But there was a Mexican restaurant near by that had amazing al pastor tacos. 2d
Texreader Thanks! I‘ve visited both Murder and Blue Willow and loved them both but especially Murder by the Book. The Twig has moved into an “upgraded” part of downtown with no nearby free parking anymore. 😞 But Jenny Lawson has opened a bookstore about a mile from my house, so you should visit it when you‘re back in SA. 2d
Graywacke Good Books in the Woods is a fantastic used book store, albeit in the Woodlands. Brazos Bookstore is the premier bookstore in town. New books and pricey, but worth a stop if you‘re in town. 1d
