Fattore umano | Graham Greene

Pickpick

This seems to be one of those few Graham Greene novels that aren‘t completely rife with Catholic themes, indeed there‘s only one scene in a church and the protagonist isn‘t a Catholic at all. This is a spy thriller, but with the feel of a slow burn -there‘s not much James Bond, but plenty of intrigue and gut twisting moral decision making. Overall, it‘s probably one of the middle of the road Greene novels - certainly no Heart of the Matter.

Pickpick

Graham Greene draws on his wartime experiences in MI6 to produce this compelling portrayal of life in the Cold War intelligence services. It's right up there with A Gun for Sale for me. Also recommended if you like le Carré, or perhaps if you've not got on with le Carré but like the idea of reading about that world.

#foliobooks are known for their gorgeous #illustratededition . I haven't read this one yet, but I really love the idea of the Folio Society, that every book is made up with its own illustrations and not every book gets the same kind of illustrations. #litsyclassics @Bambolina_81
