This book covered tough subject matter in a way that was very approachable for young students. This book can help educators to start an important discussion about a hard topic.

A homeless father and son living in an airport terminal after the death of the mother, find hope when the little boy sees a bird find freedom. Great book for a RA or SR and a good opportunity to teach empathy. ESOL strategies 3 and 4 encourage self talk and link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge and UDL‘s 3.1 activate or supply background knowledge and 8.3 foster collaboration and community would be satisfied with this book. #LAE3414sp19

DrSpalding Another powerful story. Using the state approved website is wise and you are doing a nice job of aligning your English learner strategies and universal design principles. 6y
