#fabulousfebruary, @Andrew65 Tagged book is actually Collected fiction of Leena Krohn. I'm starting with Tainaron: Postia toisesta kaupungista (Tainaron: Mail from Another City). Finalist for the World Fantasy award, winner of the Thanks for the Book Award (Kiitos kirjastamitali) in 1986. It's an epistolary science fiction novel from a visitor to a city of insects.

Andrew65 Great choices of books. 2y

#Riotgrams day 28 - Bookish Confessions

I've started 10 books during the last month, and I've barely made any progress in any of them. That's not a judgement on the books themselves, I've just hit a wall in my read drive. It may be time to take drastic measures.

#TBR

I feel like this past month has seen a lot of growth for this blog. Thanks @bookriot for the engaging series.

This huge dustjacketless 800+page hardcover caught my eye at the bookstore today. Finland's most celebrated author, hey? I had no idea. I'd better investigate. To be honest, I wouldn't start with this door-stopper of a book. What a beauty, though!

Seonjoon I've heard good things about Krohn; I look forward to hearing your thoughts! 9y
shawnmooney @Seonjoon I've got a better idea, if you're game. Why don't you and I choose a shorter book by her, and read it and post about it jointly here. I wouldn't have time to do something like that for several months, but what do you think? Maybe others will be interested and we could make a book club? 9y
Waynegjr @shawnmooney I've got Datura sitting on my tbr pile waiting to be read, I'm game. 9y

Seonjoon @shawnmooney @Waynegjr I'm game! I just need to see what I can order through my library. 9y
shawnmooney @Waynegjr @Seonjoon Awesome! Because I'm doing the Book Riot Reading Harder Challenge, and traveling in August, the earliest I could do this would be September. But I'm very excited! 9y
shawnmooney Google tells me there was a profile of her in the New Yorker in January: http://www.newyorker.com/books/page-turner/cracking-the-codes-of-leena-krohn 9y
BookishFeminist I have this sitting on my shelves at home. The stories are wonderful. I'd definitely be game for a readalong of Datura later this year. I believe it's actually included in this collection! 9y
shawnmooney @BookishFeminist @Seonjoon @Waynegjr Awesome! I haven't read the New Yorker article yet, only scanned it, but it seems like Datura would be the logical choice. 9y
Seonjoon @shawnmooney Sounds good! 9y
shawnmooney @Seonjoon @BookishFeminist @Waynegjr Hey guys just wanted to check again to see if everyone's still game to begin discussing 'Datura' by the beginning of August? The timeline is eminently negotiable, so far as I'm concerned. But do let me know OK? 9y
BookishFeminist @shawnmooney I'm game for that. That's plenty of time for me! 9y
Seonjoon @shawnmooney I'm game! 9y
Waynegjr @shawnmooney I'm definitely in. And excited. 9y
