The Time Ships
The Time Ships | Stephen Baxter
4 posts | 1 read | 7 to read
There is a secret passage through time ...and it leads all the way to the end of Eternity. But the journey has a terrible cost. It alters not only the future but he "present" in which we live. A century after the publication of H. G. Wells' immortal The Time Machine, Stephen Baxter, today's most acclaimed new "hard SF" author, and the acknowledged Clarke, returns to the distant conflict between the Eloi and the Morlocks in a story that is at once an exciting expansion, and a radical departure based on the astonishing new understandings of quantum physics.

Mehso-so

I fully understand how hard it is to write a sequel to a well-beloved seminal science fiction story, so in this way the book really succeeded and went so much further. I'm just coming away disappointed because despite reading both books I wanted a better, more human ending for the Professor in time.

Yo, as far as sequel-ing a classic goes, I have to give this one full credit. It's just as Victorian-language as the original and twice as trippy...

After destroying most of my muscles moving all the things, these reassembled shelves have the #MountTBR portion which I physically own. PHEW.

Our family just did our first annual Book Exchange, brainchild of my brother-in-law after looking up some Icelandic traditions. (We're not Icelandic) 😁 It was pretty awesome. I got the tagged book! #jolabokaflod
