This is the story of a girl named Hope who is sent away from her village at a young age. She has been given the burden of saving her village that has been flooded in darkness. She travels day and night under a spell of sorts to a place where she can learn from a great wise woman, Gracemama, and others on how to save her village. Ultimately she goes through many trials and as a last test has to journey on her own to a place far away. It is the transcendent test to see if she is ready and has developed her skills completely. Hope needs to discover her inner power in order to overcome an insurmountable task and save her village. No one has ever succeeded before in chasing this type of insidious darkness away. During her solo journey she meets a very special Dog who plays an important role. When she returns to Gracemama, who has watched over her on the journey, the wise woman decides if she is ready.
