I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I was unsure since I‘ve almost gotten rid of this dozens of times but I‘m so glad I read it! The intricacies in this plot are still making my mind spin. I love how complex and layered the clues were and that ending! Completely turned this from a So-So to a Pick. The middle is a little slow and I wasn‘t a fan of the romance that seemed pushed in, but the world was captivating and the characters endearing.

RainyDayReading Book 1 of 5 for #NutsInMay (I knew it wasn‘t going to go well 😅) and this is only my third #bookspinbonanza book 😪 @TheAromaofBooks 5y
TheAromaofBooks Hey, that's fabulous progress! I've only read the first book on my Bonanza list! 😂 5y
RainyDayReading @TheAromaofBooks I think I remember seeing a post of yours that said you had gotten sidetracked 🤣 At least there‘s still time to get through some! 4y
TheAromaofBooks I'm on the last book of the (nine book 😂) series that sidetracked me, so hopefully this week will be the week that I actually read some more of my Bonanza books!!! 4y

#NutsInMay Readathon Update: I‘m only about 36% into my first read. This book is much bigger than it seems. I was shocked to see that it has 85 chapters and over 400 pages. Definitely doesn‘t look that way from the outside. As my third #bookspin book I‘m enjoying it! Basic premise is an orphan boy, apprenticed to the Pinkertons, tries to find the father he never knew while panic hits the city. Has Jack the Ripper really come to New York?

TheAromaofBooks That happened with me with a book I picked up this week - 503 pages?! Didn't look that fat from the outside! 😂 5y
Andrew65 Well done! Sounds my type of book. 5y
RainyDayReading @TheAromaofBooks Glad I‘m not the only one! It didn‘t look that big when I put it on my pile 🙈 I swear these books can be sneaky 🤪 5y

Alright let‘s give this another go, since I always do so well 😅 I‘m hoping to read the next 5 books on my #bookspin list starting with the tagged book. If I get more than that done, great! If not...well we‘ll see. #NutsInMay @Andrew65

Andrew65 Great to have you with us 😊👍 Good luck, and have fun. 5y
