This is one of my favorite #Advent devotionals. Short daily snippets of Dietrich Bonhoeffer‘s letters to his fiancé, sermons, and other works from when he was imprisoned for speaking out against and resisting Hitler. So peaceful and so much to unpack in his words.

“It is as though in solitude the soul develops sense which we hardly know in everyday life. Therefore, I have not felt lonely or abandoned … What is happiness and unhappiness? It depends so little on the circumstances; it depends really only on that which happens inside a person.”
