I read this book for a library club, reading books that haven‘t been borrowed. Take this with a grain of salt, though; I have little context from the two previous ones. I‘ll say: it isn‘t as bad as I thought it, initially. The character introductions seem forced and I don‘t really care for any of the main characters, though I admit to not hating them. Overall, the book wasn‘t the greatest but it did exceed my (pretty low) expectations.

The future, Quercus would say later, is something that sneaks up on us while we are busy doing other things.

She could sense that there would be paintings made about this night one day, and stories told, and great songs sung, for hundreds of years, long after she was dead. She wished she could be one of them future people listening to the stories, instead of herself, stood helpless and afraid here at the start of things.

“You safe, that would‘ve been first on her list, and don‘t you never doubt it. But second, and in quite large letters, underlined, she‘d have put: Revenge.”

“In a world of machines, people can‘t be free.”

“It is possible we may survive.”
“You‘re such a comfort.”

She suddenly understood why this feeling was called falling in love. It was as dizzying as dropping down a hole.

“But fear is slavery; to be free we must ignore fear.”

This is the last book in the Fever Crumb series
I rate it a 5/10 because it wasn't the ending I thought concluded the story that well. The characters worked well together to create an interesting story, but as the conclusion to a series, it left a little to be desired.

I really liked Fever Crumb in the other books but I just lost interest and Wavey is the worst!
