Squeezing another middle grade book into #BBRC #YeahBaby #WhenItRainsItPours - and in this case it‘s pouring paint!

Rosie is a young engineer. When her great-great-aunt Rose asks her for help, she meets her Riveter friends “The smartest, sassiest, toughest bunch of airplane builders you ever saw.”

SO much to love in this! Scientists that keep experimenting, an explanation of valves, a bit of a history of Rosie the Riveter, and loads of fun!

LibrarianRyan This has been on my list for a while. I love the picture books I just haven‘t started the chapter books yet. 5y

rockpools @LibrarianRyan I‘ll have to check out the picture books, too. 5y
rockpools @Tamra Hope you and yours enjoy it 😊 - it‘s got all the things I loved about Professor Brainstorm as a kid, but with girls and real science/engineering/history... Well impressed! 5y
rockpools @charl08 👍 Will definitely try and find the others! 5y
LibrarianRyan @RachelO I love the picture books so much. There are 3, maybe 4 I think a new one came out this fall that I have not gotten to yet. 5y
rockpools @LibrarianRyan Going to have to find them! A completely unrelated question: Is SAGA an umbrella term, rather than an organisation? 5y
LibrarianRyan @RachelO Yep. It stands for Sexuality and gender acceptance. It means it just is. It's in the book and not explained. It's normalized if you will. 5y
rockpools @LibrarianRyan Got it - thank you! 5y

This is a great STEM book. Rosie, Ada, and Iggy are amazing characters who love science and do experiments and don't apologize for it. #STEM #juvenilebook

I‘ve enjoyed the picture books for years, so it‘s exciting to see these characters in a beginners‘ chapter book! Rosie Revere is recruited by the Raucous Riveters, a group of ladies who built planes together during WWII, for a special engineering project. Can Rosie and her friends, Ada & Iggy, create an invention that will work? I enjoyed seeing these characters in a longer & more fleshed our story. I can‘t wait to see where this series goes!
