1945. The vote in the House of Lords as to who should inherit the Barrington family fortune has ended in a tie. The Lord Chancellor's deciding vote will cast a long shadow on the lives of Harry Clifton and Giles Barrington. Harry returns to America to promote his latest novel, while his beloved Emma goes in search of the little girl who was found abandoned in her father's office on the night he was killed. When the General Election is called, Giles Barrington has to defend his seat in the House of Commons and is horrified to discover who the Conservatives select to stand against him. But it is Sebastian Clifton, Harry and Emma's son, who ultimately influences his uncle's fate. In 1957, Sebastian wins a scholarship to Cambridge, and a new generation of the Clifton family march onto the page. After Sebastian is expelled from school, he unwittingly becomes caught up in an international art fraud involving a Rodin statue that is worth far more than the sum it raises at auction. Does he become a millionaire? Does he go to Cambridge? Is his life in danger? Best Kept Secret, the third book in Jeffrey Archer's gripping family saga The Clifton Chronicles, will answer all these questions, but once again, pose so many more.

I had a bit of a humbug thing happening but then I pulled out and plugged in my beloved wee Christmas tree and I slapped a (literal) mess of lights on the shelf and I lit a seasonal candle and I got over my grumpy self. 🎄

Cozy always wins, if you let it. ❤️💚❤️

ALSO: This is the 3rd book in this series and I‘ve been devouring them! Isn‘t it grand to start reading a series old enough that you never have to wait for the next to publish?!

LiteraryinPA 💗💗💗 Good for you for shaking off the bad stuff! Hope you have a great rest of the day. 11mo

I just love this series! These kind of family sagas are the best. I also love to hate the enemies. I also love to read about the good old days when life wasn‘t about social media. Money and power will take you far, but also bring you enemy after enemy. Archer is a skilled author and it‘s impossible to put the book down. #SeriesLove2023

Book 3 of the Clifton Chronicles and it focuses on the next generation with Sebestian playing a large role especially in the second half of the book. It does wrap up questions from book 2. Lots of intrigue as I have come to expect with this series. Also, a huge cliffhanger which I have also come to expect. Still loving this series. 4⭐️ #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65

Lots of intrigue in this young man‘s life, but you enjoy the characters around him. Sometimes the story gets a bit complicated, but it was still easy to follow. I felt the ending was abrupt & I sure didn‘t like it, but it was a perfect lead into the next book.

Finished this. Ended in a cliffhanger as all in this series do. Read just enough of the beginning of the next book to see if my guess was correct. I‘ll enjoy this series.

Any #Connecticut #Littens going to be in #Niantic tomorrow? (I'm looking at you, @CareBear lol 😮) We're hitting The Book Barn for the day!!! It might be rainy but that isn't going to keep me from used books!!!! #BookBarn #bookfix #eastcoastenvy #NYtoCT #roadtrippin

CareBear Oh man, I would have loved to! Can you believe I've never been there? I can't today, but please let me know next time - I'd love to meet up and peruse books with you! Enjoy! 💙 7y
IamIamIam @CareBear Aww, definitely next time!!! I would never have known about it because it's about a 2 hour drive for us but we had friends who lived in RI and we'd meet up here. The kids could run around, we could all go book shopping together and then we'd head to their house. 😄 But check it out!! You won't be disappointed!!! We can #blameitonLitsy after a huge book haul!!! 🤣🤣 💜 7y

I keep seeing different posts about orders from ABE and Amazon, etc. Just wanted to pass this along - try BOOKFINDER.COM. It scours the internet and shows the best price for any new or used copy. Even shows where to buy OOP, I think. Best kept secret!!
